About the neighborhood

The Financial District is downtown’s business nerve center, which has quieted down nicely since many offices have not returned to 5-day work weeks. This means not-so-crowded walkways among the stately banks, high-rise offices, and sleek restaurants. The apartment is a 2-minute walk to Post Office Square, home to Norman B. Leventhal Park, a great spot for sun and relaxation with its sculptural fountain and garden trellises. Within a 10-minute walk, you'll find plenty of lunch spots and high-end coffee shops. Fancy lounges and one of the best Irish pubs in America draw what's left of the after-work crowds. From May to October, the city is vibrant and lively, while in the slower seasons, it's pretty quiet and calm, save for weekends. A few key local spots to check out include the New England Aquarium, Central Wharf, Boston Common, Dooley's Irish Pub, Chinatown, and the Theatre District.
